Cartoon Hangover

From your vantage point as a Cartoon Hangover fan seeing (and buying! I know you all are buying) all the cool stuff out in the marketplace –comics, T-shirts, action figures, underwear– might not strike you as at all unusual. And, for cartoons on cable TV or the movies, it isn’t at all.  But, for online television, it’s almost a revolution. Not too many channels have much more than a t-shirt or mug or an iPhone case here and there.  (Deserves a postcard, dontcha think?)  Why is it so different for Cartoon Hangover? Two things. One is, it’s cartoons. For reasons I think are a little myopic, drawn images seem more attractive to licensing partners. And, they think cartoons are for kids, kids like toys, licensees make toys and toy-like things, and…  But, the biggest reasons for our great merch come down to Jesse DeStasio of Eerie Theory Entertainment* and Nate Olson of Frederator Networks.  Jesse approached us before we officially went on the air in November 2012 and said he wanted to help license our characters out in the world. "It’s a few five minute episodes on YouTube!" I dismissively replied. "We can’t even get stuff out there on The Fairly OddParents.”  He was totally undeterred. We assigned Eerie our business.  Nate Olson runs marketing and publicity for us. Nate loves toys. He gleefully partnered with Jesse to make sure than Cartoon Hangover would become the hottest YouTube property in the licensing universe.  Jesse and Nate have made it happen. Every single day we’ve got more and more sharp stuff coming out. Check out the links below and please look at the stores our great licensees have set up for our swag. You won’t be disappointed.  Now, buy some of it or else we have to fire them! We don’t want to do that, they’re good people.  –Fred * And we don’t wanna forget Jesse’s hot limited edition toy show with Nicky Fung and Cade Hiser, Toy Pizza, distributed on YouTube by the Channel Frederator Network.  …..From the postcard back: Congratulations!
